- The types of upgrades depends on which model of the Aspire One series you have. In the Aspire One, you cannot add an extra DVD drive or hard-drive because they all lack expansion bays.
- You can almost always expand the system memory. You can also exchange the system hard-drive or internal Wi-Fi antenna for a better model, such as going from 802.11g to 802.11n. The Wi-Fi and memory module hatches are located on the underside of all Aspire Ones.
- Tech ARP recommends replacing your Acer Aspire One's hard-drive with a solid-state drive. Solid-state drives have no moving parts so they are less likely to malfunction if dropped. Also, you can use the SD card slot for extra storage space if you do not feel comfortable upgrading the hard-drive.
